The primary purpose of the AONB is to conserve and enhance the landscape. We do this by working with conservation bodies, farmers, landowners and local people to protect the distinctive countryside and wildlife of the Blackdown Hills.
Our conservation priorities are set out in our management plan. This vital document informs and guides everyone who makes decisions affecting the landscape.
We also encourage people to get involved in action on the ground and support local conservation activity. See our volunteering section for more on how to take part.
